Glass has always been an important medium in Danish design. Early hand blown glass demonstrates the delicacy of touch needed to produce fine drinking glasses and desert plates.

These objects were then etched with stars or floral displays to best reflect candle light, encourage a convivial atmosphere and celebrate the joy of dinning.

Later modernist influenced manufacture produced durable functional objects for storage and serving.

In Denmark the smallest glasses are for drinking Schnapps, often teemed with a larger beer glass.
